Donations:

We gratefully accept the following Donations:

Leads, collars, crates, blankets/bedding, towels, bowls, flea and worming products, shampoo’s, food, toys, ID Badges/Tags.

If you are looking to make a donation a monetary donation is appreciated as it enables us to pay release fees for Beagles in pounds which are one of our biggest ongoing financial commitments. Beagles are not given to Rescue groups for free here in Victoria, By Law each dog that enters a pound/shelter must spend 8 days waiting for their owner to reclaim them; if not reclaimed they are then tested for suitability to be released into rescue or adoption pens. Under Victorian Law no animal can leave a shelter unless they are Desexed, Vaccinated and Microchipped, All of which the pound performs and we (Rescue Groups) pay for. We also assist people whose circumstances have changed and can no longer look after their Beagle, Many of these Beagles also need all their vet work done before we can rehome them.

Other ongoing costs associated with Beagles that come into care are Heartworm testing and treatment, flea and worming treatments, Checkups, booster Vaccinations and other on going medical Issues, Emergency Vet Visits, food, transport and bedding to name a few. Every Beagle that comes through Beagle Rescue Victoria Inc is desexed microchipped, Vaccinated, flea, worm and heart worm treated.
Approx Costs Associated with Responsible Rescue are detailed below:

• Desexing depending on size and age       $120-$220
• Vaccinations                                        $25
• Microchipping                                       $25
• Flea/Worm and Heart Worm Control:       $35 (approx.) a month not including heart worm test ($35 approx.)

These costs don’t include food, emergency medical care, Transport etc

Every donation made makes it possible for us to continue to help and rehome Beagles of Good Nature and Temperament who have sadly ended up in the pound system, generally through little fault of their own.

Foster Care

Beagle Rescue Victoria Inc is currently looking for families/couples/individuals who would like to join our volunteer program and assist us by becoming involved in our foster care program. All our Beagles are Temperament tested desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm, flea and worm treated and are now waiting for families to look after them while they wait for their forever homes. Each Beagle comes with a starter pack of food, their own lead, collar, bowl and bedding (when available) and we are available 24/7 to assist you with any question, need or support you require. We have trainers and behaviourists available to assist us should the need arise and we endeavour to match each Beagle with a like minded Foster Family. Beagle Rescue Victoria Inc covers any medical cost that may occur to the beagle while they are in your home (A representative of Beagle Rescue must be notified immediately in the case of a accident).
